Internet Strategy - Stage 2

Internet Strategy - Web Presence Strategy

Stage 2 - Dynamic content

In Stage 1, you have a Web Site, and email, but your web content is static - and does not change. Though, there is nothing wrong with static content, but, it does not provide a) high search engine ratings, and b) it does not provide visitors refreshed content or products.  For example, if your business (or website) has a "reason" for visitors to return, there is a likelihood that the returning visitor will purchase a product, service, etc..

In Stage 2, you have established a web presence, but now you are expanding the presence to be dynamic, and/or responsive to the requests and/or easily updated. For example, by providing the ability for users to "confirm" an appointment, or to update visitors with new product updates or recipes or tips or various other concepts. The fundamental concept here is that the website should be an extension to a conversation in some capacity. Visitors should have a reason to visit your site - not just to receive the phone number and/or address - but to interact.

In this stage, you are just beginning to "interact" with visitors requests - and providing them a reason to return to your website.

A few things to "note" about the internet and to understand with regards to Internet Strategies Business and Marketing.

  1. How often should I update my website?
  2. Who can update my website?i How much does it cost?
  3. What type of information should I use to update my website? Where can I get it?

Active

At Contraba Technologies, we will walk you through the technology, and we will partner with you until you are comfortable with the "technology". We will not pressure you into contracts, or high monthly expenses. We will not sell you something that is overkill or wil not address your concerns or provide the appropriate solution.

We will review your requirements, and will be honest with your expectations.

In response to the above concerns:

  1.  As the business owner and/or operator, you define the frequency of the updates. The frequency is also driven by the business field - for example, "Tips" may only be updated 1x a week or 7x a week. Updates to products may occur every 1st Sunday of the month, etc.. As often as "reasonable" is acceptable - every business is different.
  2. Contraba Technologies, can perform the updates for you - and depending on the frequency of the updates and the scope of the updates, we can either train you or we can work out an arrangement. The arrangement would be flexible and varies depending on the requirements.
  3. Generally, it would be a good idea to use information that is relative to the business that you are currently involved in.  For example, when dealing with automobiles, basic tips regarding saving gas, or maintenance can always help - the more "rare" but applicable, the higher probability of scoring higher in search engines. In some cases, the "sources" of this information is YOU! In other words, there are a lot of "tricks" of the trade that  you uncover on a daily basis, that the common folks are unaware of.  We are not suggesting you give away the keys to the kingdom, but we do recommend that helpful information is provided - at least to give a visitor some insight or assistance.

Note:  "Search Engine Optimization" is the method to which your website is "ranked" on Yahoo or Google. "SEO" (as its often called) is the process where  your website is "tuned" in so that visitors using Google, Yahoo, AOL (etc.) can "find" your website "uniquely". One of the "tricks" of this implementation is the leveraging of "unique but applicable and search able" content. For example, a mechanic, who may have a unique "tuning" recommendation, which can be searched, may rank their website higher than normal. Second example, a caterer, who focuses on a unique dish or landscape setting may also rank high on those search criterias.  This will require some business knowledge and some clever thought.
